Customer Review: Expensive vacuum has been very disappointing

We have had this vacuum for just about a year. Within a week of purchasing it, the connector between the wand and the canister unit broke. We were able to replace it with a new vacuum. Overall, I have been fairly pleased with the unit in terms of its suction ability, but design-wise, it is hard to stand the wand up on the motorized head without it tipping over. Seems like a small complaint, but this is very annoying. Most recently, the cord rewind part broke, so that it always wants to rewind, which means it often unplugs itself from the wall socket. This is VERY annoying. And also, the connector between the wand and the canister unit has become very wobbly and unsecure and I am concerned that it is going to break any day. We are not hard on our stuff, and the vacuum cleaner has not been used that often (just ask my husband). And our house is rather small! All in all, one would expect a higher quality product given the price. It is disappointing to think we will soon be faced with purchasing another vacuum. It will not be the same brand next time, unfortunately.Customer Review: Electrolux Oxygen burned out connections

The two part wand has electrical connections that burn out. Electrolux replaced one in 5/5/06 and another in 2/27/08. The replaced wands have burned out again and they will not replace them. This is an ongoing design problem and at this point ,it makes the unit worthless! I would never own another Electrolux Vacuum cleaner!
